Model 11 grade?

I initially contacted the current Remington company to find out more information the model 11 or pre-model 11 12 ga shotgun. Serial #17684, I was told it was made around 1905 but I would have to contact the remington society to find out grade. It has no disquishing marks or engravings that I can find. It does have the safety in the trigger. What should I look for to find out the grade?

go here ( http://armscollectors.com/sn/remdates.php ) and enter the 2 letter code from the left side of the barrel. It will telll you the month and year of manufacture. I have a 1938 field grade in fair condition and would like to find a "fair" price...any idea appreciated.

The link you gave me only works for models made after 1921, and my shotgun was made before that. Thanks though
