I know Simmons made 28-gauge and .410-bore conversions of Model 870 and 1100 guns before Remington began offering them in tiny bores, but I've not heard of them doing that to a Sportsman 58. They were introduced in 12-gauge only, with 16- and 20-gauges added to the offerings the next year.
