1964 model 1100 replacement sights

Post by Supercazzola »

I recently obtained my Dad's 1100 Remington. On the barrel, rear sights, it appears a piece is broken. Anyone know where I could obtain another one? I am completely a noob when it comes to this firearm, so forgive me if this is in wrong location.
Thanks

I believe it's called a rear sight aperture

Found some on eBay. Apparently the same sights were used on early model 700, just in case anyone is looking (or participates in this forum)

Glad you found what you needed. I didn't even realize they offered slug barrels back then, and I have a '63, bought new.
I did a little checking, and it appears the deer barrel wasn't available before 1966, so the barrel may not be original to the gun.

I wasn't aware of it. Mine isn't rifled, and has a bit of blueing wear on the bottom. Its got to be an old one. i will check to see if there's a serial # on it.

I imagine newer barrels for newer 1100 would work too, but this belonged to my father, so I wanted the sights.

1100s have never had the serial numbers on the barrels, but any 2-3/4" barrel from 1963 to the present will fit just fine on a 2-3/4" receiver. They make a whole lot of newer shotguns, but I have yet to find one I like better.
