Model 1100 12 gage

Post by notahd »

I would like to find out some information on a Model 1100. It was a gift that has been handed down to me. It has a high grade walnut stock with high gloss finish it also has very nice checkering on the grip and forend. It also has fine engraving on both sides of the action with MAGNUM on the right side. On the 30" barrel it has a star 12 GA. MAGNUN and under that it for 3" shells it is a full choke. Can someone tell me about when it was made? Ser.# M764XXX M

.
First of all, you posted this in the "Rifle" section rather than the "Shotgun" section.
However.........
Based on the letter prefix code you gave with the serial number, it was made between 1974 and 1978.
If you go to this link and find the barrel date code, you should be able to more closely pin it down.
