Manfg.. Date for 700 LH action

I have a bench rest rifle and a Left Hand 700 Action was used. I'm trying to find out when the action was made and what was it chambered for. It has a 29" heavy Stainless steal target barrel on it now fitted in a McMillan stock. The serial number (A635XXXX) If anyone can help me hit me back at notahd@aol.com

Looks to be mid 1976. As for the caliber, that is anyone's guess. Remington may have a record of it.

Well thats a good start. I wish I sould find who the gunsmith was so I could find out who made the barrel. I'm finding more and more stuff each day. Thanks for the reply. I have this forum very helpfull. A wile back I was looking for information on a 6.5 rem mag.
