I have a 512T marked rifle with a box magazine. Everything I have been able to read indicates the 512 has a tubular magazine. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Remington 512
Remington made a 511, 513, 521 that took the 6round mag.
It could be that someone installed the 512 barrel on one of the above list or they could have modfiy the 512 they all have the same receiver, and bolt. I don't know why someone would want to but who knows.

I think Mark is on to something. Check the barrel. If it was originally on a 512 it should have a small hole (for the magazine tube holder) in the bottom of the barrel approximately 9" behind the muzzle. If so, the barrel was almost certainly switched. You also said it was a 512-T and then later you said it was stamped 512. If it was stamped 512-T the mystery remains...
