Hi Chris.
Well, you pretty much listed all of the information. The only thing is that the date codes you gave "J K" don't quite fit. The left one should be a month and the right one should be a year based on this chart. Unfortunately, the month letter ("J") isn't listed in the chart, but both of the letters fit into the range of years that the gun was chambered for that cartridge....1962-1968. You might take another look at the codes to see if they're correct or if there's another one there, or if you may have transposed them.
To answer your questions, it's a short-action ADL.

Anyway....... That caliber is essentially a "varmint" cartridge.......prairie dogs, coyotes, etc.
As you stated, it appears to be in very good shape.
Since that cartridge is no longer chambered, it can be a positive or a negative......it could be considered sort of a "collector's item" for those who may want one, but, since it is no longer chambered, it's not a common cartridge that can be readily found in stores, so, is pretty much of a handloading proposition and for that reason may not be that desirable to others. The .223 Remington is a much more popular caliber and will do everything that the other centerfire 22s will do.......with cheaper, more readily available ammo.
Values aren't given on the forum, so you would need to check out some of the online auction sites to find a value or check the bluebook of gun values. A Google search should provide some sources. Some local gun shops may give you an "honest" appraisal and what to expect.
Also, for what it's worth, you posted this in the "Shotgun" section. (admin just moved)
