Need a little help. My gun has nothing on the left side of the receiver.
where the model number should be. There is not a model number
on this gun any where. It has Remington on the buttplate and barrel
shroud. It is 35 Rem. cal. the ser#87xx. What year was it made?
Thanks for any help.

Model 8?
She is in what I think is very good shape.
On the barrel jacket it reads.
MANFACTURED BY REMINGTON ARMS CO. ILION N.Y.U.S.A
BROWNING'S PATENTS OCT. 2.1900 OCT.16.1900.JULY 3.1902
It is marked .35 Rem on the barrel extension.
I have put 50 rounds through it with no failures.
It shoots 3 to 4 inch groups @ 100 yards.
It has a Lyman receiver peep sight on it that looks
as it has all ways been on it. The sight mounts on the side
of the receiver it has a locking lever that is about 3/4 inch
long for locking the elevation adjusting knob. The gun has
a straight stock. There is no rust on the gun & no dents in
the barrel jacket. The buleing is a little thin on the sharp edges.
Thanks Gary

Walt, The sight reads.
Lyman
FED US. PAT. OFF
There is no other markins on it. Did they come
from the factory with this kind of sight.
I think the gun has a production code from what
I can gather from this web site. It is stamped LRR3.
So do you think it went to the factory for some work
or some one switched barrels.
Thanks Gary

Walt, Thank you for your time and info.
Now can you date a Remington model 12.
It also has no model number on it.
It is a 22 cal. pump action with a 24 inch
round barrel. Has steel curved butt plate with
(Remington UMC) in a circle that is also stamped
on the tang behind the trigger guard. It looks to
have some kind of symbol in front of the ser# it
is to far away for the Ser# to be part of it. The
Ser# is 71775 There is no production code on the barrel.
Thanks again
