Remington 121 with odd markings

Post by HKcarbine »

Greetings: I have a Fieldmaster 121 sn 1625xx which has the barrell shortened about 1/4 inch with a step cut back about 1/16 on the outside. The letter codes on the barrel are KXX52 there had been some sort of medallion on the grip cap as a mark and screw holes are left. On the receiver and barrel inside a stamped border are the words 'not english made'. Also on the top of the stock about 1 1/2 inches back are two filled holes with about the same spacing as the receiver tang sight screws. Was this rifle exported to England? Any thought or observations would be appreciated! Shoots fine very accurate.

You have a Model 121 that was sent to England. It was shipped from the factory in May 1951. The other holes and barrel work were probably done by the owner.
