New to me Model 34

Post by Shaylex »

Just picked up a Remington model 34 today. Real nice condition. All parts are there. Serial #148,XXX. Made in September of 1935. Got it home and gave the action a good cleaning. Bore is immaculate with beautiful rifling. Bluing has a nice patina and shows little wear with some light "crud" here and there. Will have to pick up some 0000 steel wool and gently remove the crud. It doesn't show any signs of rust or pitting that I can find. Cycled a few rounds through it to test function and it is SMOOTH. Walnut stock has some light scratches but no dings, gouges or cracks. Didn't have time to get out and shoot it today but hope to soon. In case you couldn't tell, I'm very pleased with my new purchase. :D

I have a model 34 that I inherited from my Uncle. I've shot it for 40 years and find it reliable and lots of fun. The tube feed and the the carriage system always loads well. This is one sweet 22.
