Model 722 value?

Post by Tracker »

Someone asked me if I would like to buy their Rem. mod. 722 in .222.
The guy has used this rifle for varmint hunting since he bought it new so it has the normal wear.
I only own Rem. 700's and 788's and 7's (rifles) and have no idea what 722's go for, I know alot of benchrest shooters look for them for the action's.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

It's really only worth what you're willing to pay for it. I've seen at least two available per month the past six months on several different sites. They averaged $400 for less than 90% to $600 for 95%+. The .222 seems to sell fairly well for 722 rifles. If this guy is the orginal owner and he's taken care of it, you can hardly go wrong, I have two and they both shoot great.

Thanks for the reply.
The guy bought it new but used it pretty much. I'm not sure if its a 722A,ADL or BDL. From what I read the only difference between the A and ADL is checkering and the difference between the ADL and BDL is better wood. It has a scope on it but nothing good. He wants 350.
I went to a local gun shop tonight and was told if its a 722A in NIB condition its only worth about 350(book value). While there I spotted a 700 classic 25-06 NIB and ended up buying it. :D
