Convert 721 to BDL?

Post by Guest »

I recently purchased a Richard's dual grip thumbhole for my 721 .270. Im wanting to add the hinged floorplate. Ive searched and searched but cant find a clear answer on whether or not this can be done. Has anyone bought the adl to bdl conversion from Brownell's? That's what Im looking at right now but I heard that the triggerguard for a 700 wont fit the 721's trigger. Can someone please help me? Thanks.

700 and 721 are almost exactly alike

I have done that two times.

The trigger on the 721 is more forward in the guard loop. But it still works. You need to hacksaw and file the magazine box shorter. Also probably fit the stock screws to length. I suggest the allen drive replacement screws. The 721 follower and spring can be kept. The biggest thing is making it all fit in the stock with craftsmanship.

Thanks Rem. Did you use the Brownell's kit or just purchase the parts for a 700 BDL?

Parts only. Actually only used a new 700 floorplate/trigger guard assy.

Restocked a "transition" 721 into a 700 ADL stock and added the BDL floorplate at the same time.

Added 700 floorplates to a few other restocks as well.
