Remington 1100 2 3/4" to 3"
Just wondering if by changing to a 3" chambered barrel, the spring, do I need to change the rings also and will the system work in my 2 3/4" 1100 that I have now
Installing a 3" Model 1100 barrel on a 2-3/4" Rece
I don't believe that a 3" barrel can be installed on a 2-3/4" Model 1100 receiver. The differences in machining inside the receivers and the difference in barrel extensions will likely prevent such action.
I have been able to install a 2-3/4" skeet barrel on a Model 1100 "Magnum" receiver. However, I could not install the 3" barrel on any of my 2-3/4" Model 1100 receivers.
The skeet barrel on the Magnum receiver functions without problems and did not require any component changes.
