Remington 3200 Question
Remington 3200 Question
I am looking to buy a 3200 shotgun. I have found an early serial number gun in excellant condition but the gun was never recalled (no dot between the OU and the serial number). Do you expect I would have any problems shooting the gun up to a case of light target loads a year? Does anyone still do the recall modification? Thanks.
Another question
I'm also getting a 3200, now if it has a dot it has had the upgrades, if any 3200 has a dot it was upgraded,if it don't have a dot it was not? Did Remington put dots on new 3200's after the recall so anyone could tell at a glance if it was updated? Also, what is the upgrade to the for arm? Just found this site, It's great, have quite a few Remingtons, love every one. All my Remingtons are working as advertised right now but any problems and i now know where to come to get help. Thanks, Dale aka 700X

Model 3200
The early Model 3200 shotguns just had the dog roll stamped on the sides of the receiver. These guns had three pins through the rear of the receiver -- a small one just below the sliding breech cover/bolt, and two larger ones. These are the guns of concern. When the modifications were done during production the roll stamp on the sides of the receiver included a wreath around the dog. Still later the pin at the lower rear of the receiver was eliminated. Also, if you look inside the receiver with the barrels removed at the standing breech, if there is an allen head screw at each bottom corner, the gun has the modification.
