22 cal smooth bore rolling block

I have acquired a 22 caliber smoothbore. It is a rolling block.
It does not say Remington on it anywhere.
There is a bead sight on the end of the barrel and that is the only sight.
On the metal buttplate is a dogs head.

Any ideas about this piece?

I don't know of any Remingtons with a dog's head on the butt plate. I also don't know of any Remingtons that don't have the company name on them. The bead front sight certainly sounds like it was meant to be a smooth bore. Sorry, no more info...

This may not be a remington. What other makers could have made something like this?
