Manufacture code date info.
Manufacture code date info.
I'm new to this sight, but not new to Remington. I have many rifles,(rimfire), and several shotguns. When looking up date codes for Remingtons, it is difficult to read visual explanation on your sight. Pretty blurry, (maybe some can be my age). I have original barrels on my 870 and 1100's. Many other "proof" marks can confuse year manufactured. I bought both new, the 870 in 1971, the 1100 in 1978. My 1100 has "EX" together than "T" closest to receiver. My 870 has "L W 3, then a dome shape, under it has 88 A U, then 60. Would like to understand all this information. Could someone please re-print barrel code information? Thanks, JLB022156@yahoo.com

Did you click the Barrel Code Location Diagram link or are you trying to read the small thumbnail picture?jlbirkel wrote:I'm new to this sight, but not new to Remington. Re: Manufacture code date info.
I'm obviously not a very savvy computer kind of person. I am embarassed to admit I DID try to read the picture. There is, however, some other info. I didn't know when looking at the link. I did send the 870 back for swelling of the stock near the recoil pad. If I read this correctly, it means the repair date was Feb. 1972, and the manufacture date was March,1971. For the 1100, it was made in Oct. 1973. Is this correct, given the info. provided?
