The 35 is not particularly rare but being its a first year is kinda nice. It should NOT be tapped for scope mounts, but I believe it should have the receiver site mount holes on the RHS. I would find a receiver site and shoot it with the 200 gr factory ammo. Make sure the forward screw does not intrude into the receiver and mar the action rod. Keep the chamber clean and you should have no troubles. They are somewhat hard on brass as some claim the chamber is milled purposely "sloppy" to facilitate easy extraction. If you reload, watch for case-head separation indicators. You may have to use small base sizer die. It was made to shoot. Go out and enjoy it.

great gun but as said above, not particularly rare. finding a nice original first year model is getting harder though. most were hunted hard and show it. plus a lot have been drilled and tapped which the first year guns were not from the factory. mine like remington corelokt 200 grain factory loads. the 150s don't group as well nor do they perform as well on deer in my experience. the winchester and federal 200 grain factory loads shoot just as well in my 35's.
