The No. 3, or Model 1893, has a Purdey-type push-button on the tip of the forearm, and the gun is taken down by removing the forearm and swinging the barrel off the receiver.

On the No. 9, or Model 1902, introduced in late 1902, the forearm is attached to the barrel and the gun takes down by means of a removable hinge-pin.
