iI just purdhased a blackpowder revolver in 36cal.,6shot.On top of barrell it has patented Dec.17 1861, manufactured Remington Ilion ny. On the bottom of the barrell ser# 21537 . You have apparently obtained an 1861 Remington Old Model Navy Revolver from the Civil War. I would suggest you don't shoot it in that you might damage its antique value. I will not suggest a load for it since I don't know the condition and I can not be responsible for your getting hurt. If you are hell bent to shoot it I would go to someone like Navy Arms who make modern shootable replicas and See what load they use in their Navy model Remingtons. Regards Jay Huber
