Fabrique Nationale Semi-Auto Rifle
Fabrique Nationale Semi-Auto Rifle
Saw one of these at a local gun show. Looks like a deluxe version of a Remington Model 8, checkered wood with round pistol-grip knob like the Belgian A-5s, heavy rib on top of barrel with fixed rear sight, no caliber marking but looks like .35. Do anyone on the board own one of these or have more info on them? Can't find anything on the net and figured this is the best place to ask due to similarity with the Model 8.
F.N. Model 1900 autoloading rifle.
John Henwood, in his book "The Great 8" says that the John Browning designed autoloading rifle was built in Europe by FN beginning in 1910. About 4900 were made. They may all have been made before World War I. It was listed in the FN catalog until 1929. The gun was sold by dealers up until 1930 or 1931. The Europeans called the cartridge it shot the 9mm "pour carabine automatique Browning". Jackson's Armory in Dallas sold one recently.
