What is the company name on your gun? The Pederson designed pump gun was introduced by Remington Arms Co. in about 1908. In 1911 the company name was changed to Remington Arms - Union Metallic Cartridge Co. In 1920 the company name changed again to Remington Arms Co., Inc. The old factory ledger, available on this web site, begins September 30, 1919 for the Model 10 at serial number 172939. In the old catalogues the matted barrel cost the same as the matted rib barrel.

I have another list from the Remington Archives and it lists the serial number range for the Model 10 production year of 1913 as being from s/n 95318 through s/n 115104.
