If I am in the wrong forum please let me know. Hello all I am new to your forum and thought it would be the best place to get a little help dating a rifle of mine. I have seen quite a few pros on here while looking around. I recently picked up a Rem. Model 12A from an estate. Stamp on the reciever appears to be a PW whitch I am assuming should be a RW. Serial number is low at 57xx5. The only other marks on the barrel seem to be an H and an S in no type of order. Any info would be great as I may take her along to the gun show tomorrow.

Your right the PW should be RW for Remington Works. Just may of not been stamped properly. Your model 12-A was made early 1911 before there was a date code on the barrel.
