I have always loved the old wood Shotshell boxes but never had much information as far as the years made. About 20 years ago I started buying them once in awhile before people started hoarding them or jacking up the prices. I have about a 40-50 assortment from Peters/Winchester/Remington/ UMC/ in 12-16-20 GA and .22 all wooden boxes myself.
I am thinking of a way to possibly sell them all or most of them..
besides EBay which I am not accustomed or never have done except buy...[ just bought an wood box yesterday]..but don't know how to sell them. I am not trying to sell them to you... just asking for some friendly advice from you.
I am firstly interested in finding the age of these boxes.... I really like them but the amount of room they are starting to take up is a bit. They are so colorful... some of them look like they were made today but none are reproductions. I would like to read and better understand the vintage..approximate dates made... and so on... mostly...
People collect the darndest things....
I also have dozens of paper Shotshell boxes ... some with shells...some Brass never used..... Hey I have a box in my desk right here...I was showing my grocery man last week....... they are
10 solid drawn Brass 10 empty unprimed 10 gauge......a full box in the paper..
kind of gold color by Alcan Company Inc Alton, IL Giulio Fiocchi made in Italy....Got several of these... some Winchester shotshells in a 2 piece box unmarked if I remember but with primers in them only... Hell I forgot how much crap I have. I just moved 2 years ago from Indiana and am recovering items I hadn't seen for years.
Any suggestions??? I live in N Central Minnesota.
Just thinking out loud to you.
Can you steer me in the right direction??? I want to learn about these...THANK YOU SO MUCH
