1867 remington handgun?

Post by julie »

I have my great grandmoms handgun and need to sell it. but i have no idea of the value or where to sell it. I'm not even sure what it's called. On the top of the gun barrell it says; REMINGTONS.ILION.N.Y the next line says ELLIOT.PAT.AUG.27.1867 underneath the barrell there is the same number on the barrell and the gun it is; 6821. If anyone has any information, I would really appreciate it. I've attached 2 pictures. Thank you for your help. Julie

That's commonly referred to as a Remington Mississippi Derringer, single shot 41 rimfire.
Unfortunately in that condition, not a lot, maybe 2-300 on a good day. The best thing to do for pricing is look on gunbroker.com, gunsamerica.com, gunsinternational.com, and auctionarms.com for like model/condition and watch SALES, not dream list prices.
