1875 REMINGTON: I'm wondering if their is any information on the 1875 Remingtons which were issued to the Indian Police. Is their a given serial number range? Were the guns marked with USID or any other Govt. marks? Did they have rack or other ID numbers? Were they in 44 Rem or 44 WCF? Is the date of requestion known? Thanks TJ

The best research on the Indian Police guns, that I'm aware of, was done
by Slim Kohler & Don Ware.
It was published in the Gun Report, "Indian Police Remingtons", part 1 in November
& part 2 December 1992.
