Remington model 1894 help

Post by msg_1985 »

I have a Remington Model 1894. Under the barrel is Pat. OCT 30th 94 listed twice one on top of the other with the letter C under those. It shows like this PAT OCT 30th 94
PAT OCT 30th 94
C

Then on the opposite side the number 113010 I'm guessing this is the serial number.

On the bottom of the gun where the barrels attach to the stock is the number 3010.

On the barrel is the number 113010, then above this on the part of the barrel that connects to the stock are the number 31 and 660 and then 290 and 168

My question is from all the research I have done the 1894 was made in a 10, 12 and 16 ga. model. But the gun I own is a 20 ga model. I cannot find anyone who has seen or heard of a 20 ga model. Any info would be great.

Remington Arms Co. did make a few 20-gauge Model 1900s right at the end of double barrel production in 1910. However, a Model 1894 with a serial number or 113010 would be an 1899-vintage gun. My initial guess would be that your gun started life as a 16-gauge and somewher along the way had the barrels sleeved to 20-gauge.

We need to see some good pictures.
