remington targetmaster 610 .22 singleshot
Does anyone know if this is a rare 22? I can't seem to find any info in the gun valus books that are published. The barrel markings are "AF 68". Thanks

uhrc,
If it is in fact a M-610, it isn't a 22 cal., it's a .267 Rim fire.
This was an experimental cartridge, and rifles to use them.
The project wasn't successful, and they were never manufactured
for sale to the public. Yes they are rare!!

Just checked the barrel with a 243 bullet and it doesn't fit , so its a .22. I don't know if its a mismarked barrel but it says 610.

Like Chuck said the 610 was an experimental gun made for an experimental round called the .267 Remington Rimfire.. I would like to see some pictures of the barrel stamping. Is your barrel also marked TARGETMASTER???? The 510 was called the TARGETMASTER and it was a single shot 22.
Your date code doesnt line up with the 600 series rifles.
