.243 win M700 in 24"

Post by Dan »

I'm looking to purchase a rifle in .243 win and noticed that with the Model 700â„¢ BDLâ„¢, the only choice is a 22" barrel. I'm looking for that cart. but with a 24" barrel. Why would remington only offer in a 22" barrel?

Thanks.

After searching the Remington catalog found this rifle which I may consider.

The Remington® Model 700 CDL (Classic Deluxe)

24" barrel. Not sure about this model compared to the BDL. Anyone have or has heard of the CDL?

After speaking to a few others on the choice of rifle, they suggest I consider the 6mm rem instead of the .243. Still deciding here.

Not that much difference between the two.

.243 has about .8" for bullet stickout in the Remington magazine box
6mm has about .6" which is getting a little crowded in the box.

.243 usually is with a 1 in 10" twist
6mm usually is 1 in 9" twist

Depends on what your intended use is for a real recommendation.

Intended use will be target primarily and Varmit second.

Looks like if I what the Model 700â„¢ CDLâ„¢, it will have to be in .243 Win as there is no 6mm Rem available.

243 will be fine for that. Good luck. Shoot safely.
