I have inherited a Remington Model 1894 shotgun with serial no. 138510. Does
anyone have information on the date that this was manufactured?
Thanks to "Researcher" I find that the numbers on the bottom of the barrels (30 & 25) tell me that the gun has modified chokes.

Re: Model 1894 dates
Charles Semmer compiled a serial number chronology from available shipping records and published it in his book Remington Double Shotguns. According to Charles' list your gun was a last year gun, 1910. By 1910, Remington saw that the future was in their John M. Browning designed Remington Autoloading Gun and their John D. Pedersen designed Remington Repeating Gun, and struck a deal in February 1910, with Norvell-Shapleigh Hardware Company of St Louis, Missouri, for the purchase of all their break-action guns, doubles and singles, in inventory and in work. So, your gun very likely passed thru St Louis.

Thank you for your help. I've been reading your answers on other 1894 posted subjects and find them very helpful.
