Hi, folks. I'm a new member with a question (of course).
I inherited a single-shot shotgun when my dad passed and
can't find the production date.
I contacted the Remington Historians and they were stumped.
Info on the left side of the gun is;
Remington Model 37A 12GA
2 3/4 x 3" Chamber
Full choke
Ser No - C529503
It appears to me that the serial number was hand-stamped
(one character at a time), and that the scrolled engraving was done by hand.
I would greatly appreciate any help that anyone might offer.

I'm not sure why the Remington historians would be stumped......they didn't make it......the Model 37A was made by Winchester. (but, I would think that they'd have told you that)

Remington DID make two single-barrel shotguns, though. A Model 3 and a Model 9
