Age or history of an old remington..........

Hello everyone. I have been referred here by Remington as you may be able to help me. I am looking for some information on a rifle that was passed down from my father’s uncle and eventually to me. I do know my father received it as a young man. My father's uncle was a gunsmith, the rifle has been customized as far as a hand made stock, work on the barrel and bolt action. The markings that are visible are the following: It is marked with U.S. Remington model 30.06. So there are no other markings that may help with the production date. The serial number is 4112673. I would appreciate as much information as you may be able to provide me. Thank you in advance for any assistance you may provide.
