model 1894 serial # 132374 Ordnance

Can some tell me what was the bead on a 26" barrel.
Brass, Steel , Ivory etc.

Can I get a replacement ? I assume the same bead was used for many years.

All seven of my Remington Hammerless Doubles from KE- to DEO-grade, and from 1895 to 1909, have white metal bead front sights. Twin ivory bead shotgun sights were a $1.00 extra cost option throughout most of the years the Remington Hammerless Doubles were produced. My Father had a 16-gauge AE-Grade serial number P136036, that had a Marble Ivory bead front sight. I don't remember a mid-bead or not, and I don't know if it/they were original or after-market. That gun was stolen from his house in Seattle in the early 1980s.

the 132374 is the serial # and Ordnance is the barral type of steel.

I can't say for sure but I think BRASS was their standard site and any thing else was special ordered or after market. All my "A" grades always came with brass. After that my collection to a DEO grade are like yours. Jay Huber
