Remington 552, manufacture date?

I just purchased a 552 off Gunbroker. I need help with the manufacture date of the gun and any other
information the codes may reveal. On the 21" barrel there is a code LV87, the serial number is A1520XXX.
Did all 552s of this era have birch stocks? I'm new to the Remington Society, hope this gets out.

Sir your "LV" barrel markings indicate February 1979 date of manufacture. Hope this helps. Richard.

Is yours the very blonde stock? It was a special run with blond(e) birch stocks but don't remember exactly when.
