I recently bought a box of UMC .236 Remington ammo. Its an old two piece box of course. Any info on the bullet and rifle would be great.

Re: Need Info on the .236 Remington
I consulted my old (1969 vintage) "Cartridges of the World" and could not find anything with that designation in any category......American, European, Obsolete, etc.......nothing.
EDIT: I did some searching on the Internet for obsolete cartridges and found this link:
http://www.starsandstripesammo.com/pric ... e_list.pdf
It lists a ".236 Navy" and below that is the 6mm Lee Navy.
If you have the actual cartridges, you should be able to find the dimensions for the 6mm Lee Navy and compare them to what you have. (if you have a dial caliper)
And, here's another link:
http://www.ammo-one.com/6mmLEE.html
Also, the 6mm Lee Navy was the cartridge case used for the .220 Swift.

Re: Need Info on the .236 Remington
Thanks so much Gene. So just to clarify the only Remington gun with the 236 Remington stamping is the 1896 New Model Small Bore Rolling Block.
