Model 11-48 Grade Designation

Does a Grade B gun (enhanced wood, no engraving) have a B letter suffix on the receiver after the model designation? I have one that looks like a "B" has been eched after the receiver was blued. I suspect this is not factory. By any chance, did Remington mark any serial number designation on the wood, such as on the forearm metal liner or under the butt plate? Thanks. I'm new to this web site. It looks great!
