Model 11s and rifled slugs

Post by st33lcas3 »

I'm wondering of it's OK to shoot rifled slugs with a Model 11 12 gauge. It has the built in full choke.

Rifled slugs will not hurt the gun a bit. The only way to know how accurate they are going to be will be to shoot it. Usually full is not that great, but you never can tell.
Sabot slugs are intended to be used with rifled barrels.
What could have happened... did.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I stumbled across a couple of forums where people were saying don't shoot rifled slugs through a full choke, but they were talking about the screw in kind. No one mentioned anything about barrels that had the full choke built in. I just wanted to know from people that knew the Model 11.

BTW, I have shot rifled some slugs through her already, maybe 15 or 20. Not a lot but enough to know shooting from a standing position it's pretty accurate out to 50 or 60 yds.
