Just picked up a Model 121 and I couldn't be happier! Traded it out right for a Ruger LCP. The barrel is stamped OJO which leads me to believe it was made in 1940 or 1962. How do I determine which year is correct?
Thanks!

Re: Model 121 date codes
Well they did stop making them in 1954

Re: Model 121 date codes
That makes more sense
! It's in great shape for a 1940! I hope I look that good when I'm 69! Were the lyman tangent sights an option or after market? I have one on the rifle and it won't adjust causing me to not be able to see the front sight over or through the rear sight. Any suggestions?

The Lyman tang sights were available from Remington, but were most often added by the owners. There are no factory records to show... You may need a different front sight to get it on target.

I just noticed you said it won't adjust... Try turning the adjustment knob clockwise. It might take some effort or even some help from a tool. I won't say what kind, but don't put too much force on it. Maybe some break free first???

It turns easlily just a tiny bit then stops. I don't want to force it because it feels like I could break it. I think there is something I'm missing on how to work this sight.
