I was just passed down a double barrel shotgun from my great grandfather.
It sais Remington Arms, co on the side. The only code I have found on the gun is 303445. There is no code on either of the barrels.
Can anyone help us determine age and value?

Re: Trying to determine age/model year of Shotgun handed down
A hammerless double with a serial number in the 300000 range would be a Remington Model 1900. They were made from 1900 to 1910 an yours would be from the first year.
There is really no way one can evaluate a gun over the internet. Value depends on gauge (12- or 16-gauge in this case), barrel material (Remington Steel or Damascus), whether it has a plain extractor or selective automatic ejectors, condition and originality. Value could be less then a hundred dollars for a parts junker to probably something over a thousand for a mint condition steel barrel ejector 16-gauge.

Re: Trying to determine age/model year of Shotgun handed down
Thank you very much! I appreciate your help.
The barrels are definately steel and it is hard to say what caliber the gun is but from the naked eye, the holes look a little smaller than a 12 guage shell, but I could be wrong.
Is there any way to determine what caliber it is other than trying to stick a shell in it? I dont have any at the moment.
I can post a pic if that would help
Thank You
