I inherited an old Model 11 from my dad, who inherited it from his dad. It's not in very good shape; the foregrip is cracked, and the stock and foregrip both have scratches and light general damage. I'm trying to learn more about its provenance.
The serial number on the receiver is 230xxx, and the left-side barrel code reads "RUU3" (there's also an "REP" proof mark on the barrel). If I read that right, that dates the barrel to Nov 1949. However, there are no other marks on the receiver: no birds, checkering, engraving, or anything. Where can I learn more about this gun's age, and how to restore it to better condition?
Cheers,
-Paul

Re: Help with Model 11 ID
A serial number in the 230xxx range would put the guns manufacture in the December 1920-January 1921 time frame.

Sounds like you have a replacement barrel.
