Any Model 25 owners?
Any Model 25 owners?
Has anyone out there actually disassembled a model 25 to the point of unscrewing the action bar from the magazine connector? On my rifle these two parts won't separate. I very much doubt that there is rust or that the parts have been misthreaded together. I'm wondering if Remington intended to make this joint semi-permanent. I do have a spare magazine connector and action bar and the threads are very, very fine. Even trying to screw these spare parts together is difficult because the threads don't seem to go together, so I stop. If Remington intended this joint to be semi-permanent, what would be the reason for that? If anyone has any knowledge about this I would sure appreciate some light shed on this. Thanks.
Re: Any Model 25 owners?
I think we're talking about different parts. I know the magazine tube does what you describe. You have to go farther to get to the point I'm talking about. I'm talking about what the manual calls the action bar separating from the magazine connector. You have to separate these parts in order to remove them from the gun. Have you disassembled your rifle to that point? As far as the small screw you describe goes, my rifle has it, but I just leave it out. Thanks.
