I am trying to find out about this gun I just inherited. It is in bad shape due to an elderly grandfather trying to varnish the stock =/
I think the gun otherwise is in fair condition. There are no markings on the sides(engravings) like I see on the 1920+ model 11's, there is no date code on the barrel.
Stamped on the receiver is the serial: 16 2567 (with the space)
ON the top of the barrel there is the Remington Arms-Union Metallic Cartridge Co. Remington Works Ilion, NY USA
Browning's Patents Oct. 9,1900 Dec 17, 1901, Sept 30, 1902, June 16, 1903.
That is it, no model number. No engravings on either side. There is a "Remington Trademark" stamped on the bottom of the trigger housing.
Any information on this gun would be great!
