What does HC mean that's stamped inside the barrel channel of the stock?
I know it's not just my rifle. I joke that it means "Hibby* Collection."

Autoloading Rifle "Pre Model 8"
Howdy gents. Hope the New Year is treating you well.
Here's a late 1910 production #3 Special, later called a C grade. Pictures are from warmer days. It's chambered in 35 Remington. One of these years Pennsylvania will get on board and allow semi-auto centerfire rifle use for big game.

Re: New to me Model 8
Hi Steve, welcome to the board.
Those Remington autoloaders sure are a neat rifle. I believe you're correct that it's been refinished.
The sister page has considerably more traffic with these rifles. https://thegreatmodel8.remingtonsociety.com/

Thanks for posting John. Mighty fine wood grain for B grades!!!
It’s great to have photos for reference when the books for differing models of these old Remingtons are long out of print.

You have a Model 14. It looks to be in pretty decent shape, hope you enjoy the rifle as much or more than your grandfather did.

Re: Model 11 20 gauge
type this into your favorite internet search engine "remington date code." Then reference the chart. Incase you didn't know, the home page of this website has the date code chart.
The left of your barrel close to where it meets the receiver will have a 2-3 letter code. That's how you'll determine ...

Re: Remington model 14-R Carbine with C-grade wood
Now that’s a good looking rifle! Not only is it a carbine, but a C grade too. I imagine there’s few C & engraved carbines out there. I like that it has nice honest user wear especially for it’s age.
