Re: Remington 76 lever action

That stock will most likely be difficult to locate. Keep a constant check on auction sites and check frequently with any of the used parts sources.

Re: Remington 725

I don't recall anything negative on the 725. I would just look at it as a used rifle, the '06 had a buttplate rather than a pad so check LOP is one is added.

Re: 11-48 410 butt plate replacement

Your local gunsmith might have some take-offs after recoil pad installation. This might be the better choice as many times the stocks are sanded with the buttplate installed so the fit is near perfect.

Gun parts sources such as Numrich might have original or reproductions.

I think this company ...

Re: "Ellust patent" derringer knock off or what?

Looks like a copy, poorly faked at that.

Text not straight, Ellust incorrect, N.I. instead of N.Y., patent date off. Value depends, some people might pay a bit more for a fake, others will cut the value because it is not legit.

Re: 1945 Sportmaster issue

Springs might be needed but I would start with cleaning first. Clean the face of the bolt, be sure to get the corners and nooks. Also clean the notches in the barrel that the extractors fit into. The rest of the bolt might need cleaning but if the firing pin seems to move freely I would add a bit of ...

Re: Rem. 1100 Question?/argument

I'm not aware of a M1100 in Treebark, the M11-87 was made in full Treebark. Treebark came out in the early 1980's and started getting popular about 1983, the M11-87 was introduced in 1987 and the M1100 was discontinued, so the possibility exists. My guess is that the M1100 was not offered in ...

Re: .32 Remington reloading

I'm not sure that RCBS is still manufacturing dies in .32 Rem, you might contact them direct to confirm. If they are making and selling then you should be able to buy direct, or they might be able to tell you where the last shipment was sent. Online auction sites are a choice on the used market.

Re: Recently inherited Remington 1100 410

Remington uses barrel date codes for year of manufacture, for the shotguns the prefix and suffix of the serial number can give some identification of the model.

Remington plug screws are pretty much all the same, 6x48 TPI with a head. I don't know what was installed on that particular rifle from the factory.

The current rear sight is on backwards. The Receiver Cover is missing, mostly cosmetic but it does help keep debris from from entering.

The receiver itself is aluminum, screws are steel, be careful not to strip the threads.

Re: Remington Model 30 Express

The Model 30 was not huge seller, the large portion of the production years fell during the years of the Great Depression. The Model 30 Express really fell into the Depression era and only about 23,000 rifles were produced, all calibers combined.

I don't recognize the shield or it's inscription. I don't think it adds anything to the value, but if the shield could be assigned to a particular department then value may be added for a category of collectors.

There are many many departments and agencies, don't get stuck on "police" in your ...

Re: Got me a 550 Today!

Congrats! I've not come across many 550's, quite a few of the 550-1's tho.

There are some differences between the two models, I'm not sure how available some of parts for the 550 are today.
