I recently bought a rem 722 in 222 Rem. the barrel and receiver date to 1950 and 1951 approx. The REP proofmark is upside down on the barrel. all other marks appear to be normal. Any idea what is going on here?

40 X production dates
I have searched pretty hard and cannot find date on serial no. I have a 40X, no suffix or prefix, 6mm Rem, single shot, 26" SS or chrome moly barrel. the serial no is 188xx. bolt has serial no. on it. for the life of me I cannot find a production date. I would like to know when it was made and ...
