quick model 58 question
I'm repairing a model 58 in 20ga. It has a broken action spring. Research seems to indicate that one size spring fits all gauges. Can anyone confirm this? thanks

Being an owner of two model 8's i'm familiar with the disassembly/reassembly procedure. I had believed that the only differences in the two models are ...

141 in 35 rem. loads
I just picked up a very nice 141 Rem. in 35 cal. manufactured 1939. I plan to load 200gr RN bullets. Does anyone have a favorite powder/primer combo for this rifle?

Re: 141 carbine
Is it in carbine? There are a lot of them out there in standard barrel length. I use GB rifles that have bids/selling to get a feel for the market value.

Re: Remington magazine troubles
If the rifle is functioning and firing well I wouldn't fret it. Personally I never jam the last round into any semi auto. They all function better that way.

Re: 742 found leaning on a tree!
After dismantling and a good kerosene soak it was obvious the barrel was past saving. I found a .243 barrel and bolt for $60 replaced the action spring and tube. thoroughly cleaned the trigger assembly. Wanting to preserve the "Rip Van Winkle" look I gave the wood a teak oil coating and left the ...

Re: 742 found leaning on a tree!
It was in .308 with no magazine and an empty round stuck in the chamber. Several notches on the forearm indicated it had done its job many times. But possibly it jambed one to many times and the owner removed the magazine, leaned it on a tree and walked away!

742 found leaning on a tree!
This rifle was found leaning on a tree in the Adirondack mtns. no telling how many winters it had been there. I bought it for $10 as a conversation piece. Not being able to leave anything alone i had to see what makes it tick!

Jim..got the cartridge stop from Jack First. works great, factory ammo as well as handloads. Crimp will be required. Awaiting the action bar cover. Then the old dog will finally hunt!
