Re: Deluxe Remingtons
Nice wood with very nice figure and appears to be well done, however Remington never made any that looked anything like this. I have “C” “D” and “F” grade wood on model 12-14 - 141 - 25’s all with factory wood. Also Remington would send a nice buttstock with a plane forearm.

Re: 760 Deluxe
The forearm is nowhere close to the correct shape, and I really can't tell about the butt stock. However I can assure the grip cap is 100% Remington custom shop. I own several grade guns and all wear that grip cap from early 1900's till past your serial #. Beautiful Wood and nice work, but Remington ...

Re: 760 Deluxe
You might check the checkering pattern by the pic's of my early "F" grade 760. Most patterns are very similar even in the different grades. The grip cap is definitely from the custom shop. I have only seen that type cap on upgraded guns from Remington. The end of the forearm looks but just the angle ...

Re: Model 25 pump action take-down rifle, 25-20- HELP!. cal
I agree with Tom and nambujim the gun was pieced together. It has a 121 forarm and from what I can see in the pictures a 121 but stock the blue in his way to shiny for factory bluing factory blue and has more of a charcoal color to it and the white markings in the roll stamp die is a sure sign of ...

Re: 14 1/2 validation
Eargsplitten, I agreexpect with nambujim about the originality of the 14 1/2 rifle in question. You can see light wear on the correct for period butt plate and as Jim said are nearly always chipped and most busted. I have never seen a mint one for sale that had been taken off. The forearm is ...

Re: Model 14 1/2 .44 rem.
Cmax, Always glad to see new faces on the forum. Like Jim said the replica nylon butt plate will fit and look period even though it duplicates a mod 12 .22. It does require fitting. Boiling in hot water it can be bent to fit. Yes the big head small screw original are impossible to find but I have ...

Re: 141 trigger work
Jim, The mod 141's and mod 14's have trigger pulls all over the place. This is partly because parts on these guns are all over the place as there were many parts changes over the years on these guns. Ask any one that has ever tried to replace a part on one. It can be frustrating to have several ...

Re: What diciphers a rifles grade (standard, special ,peerle
Viking, Nearly all early mod. 14's had the hard rubber butplate with umc logo and are always chipped or broken. Other buttplates could be ordered but are pretty rare on early guns. That is why so many have been replaced. Sorry i dont know how to post a pic here. You probablywill never found one for ...

Re: What diciphers a rifles grade (standard, special ,peerle
Viking, I was fortunate to pick upa first year mod. 14 that was a consecutive numbered gun to go with one i already had. Proud owner of sn,# 1720. And 1721. Not for sale. Neither is mint about 85%. Managed to take a deer with 1720 couple of years ago. Good luck in your quest.

Re: What diciphers a rifles grade (standard, special ,peerle
"C" grades slight upgraded wood checkered front and rear. "D" grade nicer wood with nice grain with some flowing lines. Roughly 50% eng. On receiver with serial number engraved in script not block roll stamp. Checkered front and rear with Rem. Grip cap. "F" grade rec. Fully eng. as well out on the ...

Re: Stock identification on 721 ..... fantastic wood !
I'll put my money that the stock is a Harry Lawson 1960's stock. The barrel eng. was probably done when the stock was replaced. Guarantee you Remington never put any wood or just eng. on the barrel like that out. The stock screams 1960's Weatherby look a like.

Re: RARE REMINGTON 14
Blly, I agree with Rem. 141 that the barrel has been cut. I have sn# 1720 & 1721 and are typical early 14's. The integral front riser is the key to being original. Also that is a late model Rem. buttplate. Nice gun and still a keeper as most of the early guns saw a lot of use. Take it hunting,as it ...

Re: model 742
The era that I used these guns were from 1972-1980 when they were in current production. The guns I had ranged from out of the box to ex. shape. The chambers were meticously cleaned with bronse brushes. I also hunted with a lot of people that had them at the same time that I refered to. My father ...

Re: model 742
When I was just a young hunter I went through the 742 phase mainly because everybody in my area used one.(southeast) After several different 742"s and many different varying problems I finally gave up on them. Most of the one's I had were new or nearly new. The thing I learned from all of this was ...
