It measures 18.5" from the front edge of the reciever to the muzzle.

Thanks for the reply. Then what I have is a cut-down rifle. Not unhappy as what I wanted was a .243 760 carbine as a handy coyote gun and since the factory didn't make one a modified rifle would have been the only alternative. Just have to see how she shoots. Thanks again.

Did Remington ever make the 760 Carbine in .243? Were all 760 Carbines marked as such on the barrel? Thanks.

I was very lucky to acquire a Remington Model 30R Carbine recently. It is .30-06 caliber has stock markings for the Pennsylvania State Police. All information I have seen on the Carbines said that they had barrel mounted rear sights but this one has the early style Remington Model 30 peep sight on ...

Saw one of these at a local gun show. Looks like a deluxe version of a Remington Model 8, checkered wood with round pistol-grip knob like the Belgian A-5s, heavy rib on top of barrel with fixed rear sight, no caliber marking but looks like .35.
