A 20-gauge Model 11 factory Poly-Choke --

Thanks for posting the image, it appears that the base for the poly-choke is formed at the muzzle of the barrel, then the rest of the choke assembly is mounted to that, nice. The one on mine then is for sure an added addition due to its ...

Re: Model 11 with factory polychoke

The adjustable choke was added after it left the factory. The Full choke was on the original barrel.

Thanks for the reply.
The choke itself is branded "Poly Choke" the bluing at the base is a perfect match to the barrel, so the whoever that installed the Choke did an amazing job.
The barrel was ...

Re: Model 11 with factory polychoke

So, how about an 11-48 barrel with this date stamp & a Poly Choke?
I bought this barrel used for my Mohawk-48, that was made in 1973, its fit perfectly.
But, I'm uncertain about the when or how the Poly Choke came to be on this barrel, I'd like to think its a Remington Install, but above the date ...

Re: Rem Model Mohawk-48 & earlier barrels

For anyone (maybe a guest) what I've found out about the barrel's date stamp for the year that is to say the double TT's it was manufactured in 1948. The barrel appears to be a really nice find for it near new state. It'll make a nice addition for a second barrel option for the Mohawk-48 shotgun.

Re: Rem Model Mohawk-48 & earlier barrels

The Model 11 is a completely different gun, there is no interchange with parts between the two models. The Mohawk-48 was made from 1949 to 1960.

There is speculation that the Mohawk-48 used up the remaining inventory of parts from the Model 11-48 line prior to the introduction of the Model 1100 ...

Re: Rem Model Mohawk-48 & earlier barrels

Thanks for the reply, I wasn't for sure about the model 11's but everything I can find about the Mohawk-48 came back with the same same conclusion, Remington discontinued the 11-48 (recoil operated) and adopted the newer gas operated 1100's as their flagship model. The factory was left with massive ...

Rem Model Mohawk-48 & earlier barrels

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum & this is my first post. I'm not new to forums by far, just new to this one. Brief history for this topic. A few days ago I was given a near new condition Rem Model Mohawk-48 12ga Full Choke barrel shotgun, this gun is 98% pristine. So, in the past I was a bit of ...
