To All RSA Members, The big news we have to share with you in- volves the 200th Anniversary of Remington – America’s Oldest Gunmaker. Yours truly and Rich Shepler have been working with Remington Corporate in their Bi- Centennial Plans since early September. Remington will have a transportable 26’ by 20’ display room set up at all major events in 2016, including the SHOT Show in Las Vegas and the NRA Annual Convention, among others. display to answer historical questions from the thousands of visitors expected at all the events during the Remington is also making special “200th Anniversary” firearms for 2016, including some for display, some to be raffled off, and others for sale… but more on these offerings in the next issue. We are pleased to announce the establishment of THE REMINGTON HISTORICAL FOUNDATION, Inc. This is the fulfillment of a dream of mine in our quest to preserve the history of “all things Remington.” The Foundation is totally independent of the Remington Society of America, although there may be an interface in the future. The principal leaders of the Foundation are David Fagan, Dan Pozarek, Corey Creamer and myself, Roy Marcot. The stated purpose of the new entity is:
The Foundation has been approved by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) “tax exempt” organization. This means that the Foundation can accept contributions of historically related materials and the donor can take a bonafide tax write-off for the value of such materials. The foundation was established to provide an educational entity to gather and share information (data and images) about the history of Remington firearms, ammunition and other products.
