Fritz Baehr – Bolder, Colorado Position in civilian life: Independent insurance agent. RSA position: Founding RSA President (1982 to 1988). RSA Charter member since 1982. What he collects: All Remington firearms. A collector since 1942. His favorite Remington firearm: Remington New Model Pocket Revolver and Blue Smoots Patent Revolvers. What things does he appreciate most about the Remington Society: The sharing of Remington information, the RSA Journal, and my many lifelong, wonderful friends made through the RSA. What he might want to change about the RSA: Officers and directors will capably take care of any necessary changes to be made. Thats why we pay them so much. What he might want to change about the RSA: An abundance of more youthful new members, reaching a membership of 5,000, and three annual seminars.


Gordon Stanley – Fulton, Texas

The RSA Journal and individual
research that the members are doing and
the sharing.

the RSA: Nothing – all seems to be
going quite well!!

and keep active with NRA and other
major shows.


George Slatten – Sante Fe, New
Mexico
Position in civilian life: Director of
Repair Services
RSA position: RSA Past President. RSA
member since 1991.
What he collects: Remington Model 12
rifles, handguns, historical paper, etc.
A collector since I was born, but
started collecting guns in high school.
His favorite Remington firearm: Hard to
pick just one, but first choice would be
the Remington No.7 rolling block
sporting & target rifle.

about the Remington Society: Camaraderie,
sharing information and interests.

the RSA: Growth in membership, more
general member participation.

five years: In sound financial status.


Rich Shepler – Duck River, TN

Mike Strietbeck – El Toro, California
Position in civilian life: Business
owner – manufacturing packaging
products.
RSA positions: Vice President (since
2003) – Research Team Member (since
2002) – RemShots (since 2005). An RSA
member since 1997.
What he collects: Remington handguns,
Revolving rifles, Cane rifles, Remington
Knives and Remington-related paperwork.

about the Remington Society? The
friendship.
What he might want to change about
the RSA? A wider volunteer base.
Where does he want to see the RSA in
five years? With an RSA owned
building to house papers, books, and
artifacts.


John Gyde – Creswell, Oregon
Position in civilian life: Retired banker
Current RSA Position: RSA Vice-
President (formerly RSA Treasurer).
Appointed in 2005. An RSA member
since 1987.
What he collects: Remington .22 rifles,
specializing in Model 12 slide-action
rifles. A collector since 1980.
His favorite firearm: A Remington
Model 572 that belonged to my father.
What things does he appreciate most
about the Remington Society: Great
people who are willing to share their
vast Remington knowledge.
What might he want to change about
the RSA: Tough question. We walk a
tight line between being too formal and
too informal as an organization. We
need to keep a middle ground so we can
have fun and still get some things
accomplished. I think that were doing
just fine, but a little more structure and
accountability might be OK.
Where does he want to see the RSA in
five years: I hope we can continue to
grow gradually and offer our members
value, fellowship and information on all
things Remington. As Leon said, we
need to Fight the Good Fight.


Roy Marcot – Tucson, Arizona
Position in civilian life: Historian and author,
specializing in Remington firearms. He has
authored six gun books since 1985.
RSA position: RSA Journal Editor since 1991.
An RSA member since 1985.
What he collects: Remington historical
information and artifacts. The RSA Historical
Archives boasts more than 139 linear feet of
Remington-related material. A collector since
1979.
His favorite Remington firearm: Remington
Model 121 slide-action .22 rifle.
What things does he appreciate most about
the Remington Society: The way an organization
can grow from an acorn of an idea in 1981,
to a professional group of 600+ dedicated
collectors and historians in 2007.
What he might want to change about the RSA: Get more members involved.
Where does he want to see the RSA in five years: Approaching 1,000+ members,
worldwide.


Bob Creamer – Salem, Oregon
Position in civilian life: Head of a CPA
firm.
RSA position: RSA Treasurer. An RSA
member since 1996.
What he collects: Remington Engraved
Model 8 rifles and Model 81 rifles and
Model 51 pistols. A collector since 1964.
His favorite Remington firearm: My
fathers 8mm Lebel which he used on
numerous hunting trips.
What things does he appreciate most
about the Remington Society: Friendships
with numerous great RSA
members.
What he might want to change about
the RSA: To have more members
participate more actively in the Society.
Where does he want to see the RSA in
five years: Many more active members.

Sue Creamer – Salem, Oregon
Position in civilian life: Bobs wife;
Mother to ten children; and Grandma to
14. I also work at Bobs CPA firm.
RSA position: RSA Secretary. An RSA
member since 1996.
What she collects: Whatever Bob likes.
What things does she appreciate most
about the Remington Society: Historical
RSA Seminars that bring the history
alive with great RSA friends. I especially
appreciate the fellows who do so much
to support the RSA.
What she might want to change about
the RSA: Having more people pitch in to
help the Society run.

five years: The same great Journal, and
with lots more good friends and

History.


David Fagan – Glen Ellyn, Illinois
Position in civilian life: Systems
Analyst (USCMS) – Fermi National
Accelerator Laboratory. U.S. CMS –
Collaboration of U.S. scientists participating
in the Compact Muon Solenoid
(CMS) experiment at the Large Hadron
Collider (LHC) at CERN in Geneva,
Switzerland.
RSA position: RSA Webmaster and
Technical support
RSA member since 2001. An RSA Life
Member since 2004.
What he collects: Remington derringers
and all other Remington small single,
revolvers, pepper-boxes, and associated
items. A collector since 1990.
His favorite Remington firearm:
Remington-Elliot Zig-Zag Derringer.
What things does he appreciate most
about the Remington Society: The
people I have met, the volume of
knowledge within the membership and
their willingness to share.
What he might want to change about
the RSA: Im always pushing to take
advantage of the newer technology to
facilitate everything from the management
tasks to the distribution of
knowledge and history contained in the
both the minds and file drawers of our
membership.
Where does he want to see the RSA in
five years: An increased membership
that includes a number proportionate to
the large amount of people who express
interest in the post black-powder to
modern rifle and shotguns. The membership
is out there, but have not found or
understand the great value our organization
can offer from the current
membership which have extensive
knowledge. I would also like to see
greater support from organizations who
benefit from the increased interest in the
collecting and purchasing of antique
and modern firearms.


Jack Heath – Thornton, Pennsylvania
Position in civilian life: Member of the
sales and marketing department of
Remington Arms Company from 1962 to
1996; and part time to 2001. Was the
Company Historian from 1986 to 2001.
RSA position: RSA Board of Directors ,
(formerly RSA VP).
An RSA member since 1987.
What he collects: Anything with
REMINGTON on it. A gun collector
since 1962.
His favorite Remington firearm: My
Model 1100 , 20 gauge shotgun.
What things does he appreciate most
about the Remington Society: The
people and their knowledge.
What he might want to change about
the RSA: So far so good, but come up
with some way to attract the younger
collector and appeal to the modern
hunter and shooter by creating more
interest in the more modern products.
Where does he want to see the RSA in
five years: 1,000 Members and more
people involved in operating the
organization.


Edward A. Hull – Seal Beach,
California

Bob Hatfield – Lake Ozark, Missouri

about the Remington Society: The
camaraderie.
What he might want to change about the RSA: Get members more involved.
Where does he want to see the RSA in five years: The RSA to have a
membership and display table at every gun show attended by a RSA
member.


Garland Jackson – Sterling, Ohio
Position in civilian life: Retired

What he collects: Remington double
barrel shotguns – both hammer guns
and hammerless.

people getting together telling, seeing
and showing what they collect.

the RSA: Do things to get women
(wives) to come to seminars or other
RSA get-togethers.

five years: More members and more get-togethers.

about the Remington Society: The
historical knowledge of
our members; Like interests and
friendships; The RSA Seminars and
Research trips.
What he might want to change about
the RSA: Attract younger members;
and more involvement by existing
members.

five years: At 750+ members.


Gene Myszkowski – Stuyvesent
Falls, New York
Position in civilian life: Retired Health
Economist, New York State Department
of Health
RSA position: RSA Director since 1997.
RSA member since May 18, 1982 –
Charter member # 67, probably the only
annual Charter member.
What he collects: Remington-Lees,
Model 760s and Model 7600s. A
collector since 1960.
His favorite Remington firearm: My
first new rifle – a Remington Model 722
in .244 Rem, now in 6mm Remington and
rebuilt so that only the action is
original. It is an old friend in the woods
and never let me down. My favorite
collectors arm: A Special Remington-
Lee Sporting Rifle – one of three known.
What things does he appreciate most
about the Remington Society: The
camaraderie a good group to be with
and having a mutual interest.
What might he want to change about
the RSA: They are already working on
it… increase interest in collecting post
WWII Remingtons.
Where does he want to see the RSA in
five years: Doubled in size.


Robert Bob Pryor – Santa Clara, California
Position in civilian life: Security Manager
RSA position: RSA Show Coordinator. RSA Life Member since 2001.
Annual Membership started in late 1990s.
What he collects: Remington Model 1875s, 1888s & 1890s; Model 51s.

What things does he appreciate most about the Remington Society: The
quality of our leadership. We are very fortunate to have the services of
so many fine, qualified people willing to give so much of themselves.
What he might want to change about the RSA: I want to see membership
grow.
Where does he want to see the RSA in five years: The RSA is already
recognized as the leader and authoritative source for all information
Remington. What still needs to be done is to have a much closer tie to the Remin
gton Company
and for the RSA to grow to about ten times our current size.
